ShroomPen is a privacy-first browser writing assistant that helps users reply, rewrite, fix grammar, and translate text directly on websites. It can use the current page, selected text, or specific browser tabs as context, allowing users to write without switching to a separate AI chat. ShroomPen is designed with local data control in mind. It has no required ShroomPen account or hosted model, and generation requests are sent directly from the browser extension to the AI provider configured by the user. It supports providers including OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
